For the past fifteen years while healing with post- traumatic-stress disorder and more recently with breast cancer, my image making has been a sanctuary for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Each image has been part of a larger story or personal cosmology which evolved to cradle my experience in visible form. Through the images I am able to fully be witness to and embrace all that is within me. The Touch Drawing* process, has been an amazing vehicle through which to know the spirit guides and the creatures whose medicine and presence are always present guiding and supporting me as well as engendering a trust in ever-present voice of my soul and it’s eternal wisdom.

For Helen, her creative process is a sacred container in which she listens deeply within to the energies present that guide her to bring forth the imagery that is asking to be born through her. The imagery that she has evolved over the past ten years bears witness to her ever deepening connection to the universal creative life source within us and all that is. This energy has become known to her as the primordial dark mother goddess, whom she calls the Ancient Mother.

Also present she are the the trees, birds, creatures who come to her in dreams, inlife and in her process with their mediciine. And there are the Ancient Ones, the ancestors of long ago through whom she is learning to remember the vaste wisdom and power that is available in her soul² knowing. Her process has also been an incredible crucible for healing from personal and cultural trauma she has experienced in this lifetime.

It is with this deep grounding in her own process that she facilitates the re-connection with the creative essence with others in her workshops and private sessions.

Helen Warren brings over 25 years of experience as a teacher, facilitator, painter and printmaker to her healing work. Her life-long research into the philosophy and psychology of the creative process includes Masters Degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education. Study with Seneca elder Twylah Nitsch and medical intuitive Carolyn Myss have deepened her understanding of the creative capacity and the relevance of its expression to the evolution of all life on this planet. She is certified as an Advanced Facilitator of Soul Recognition through Soul Support Systems, Inc. and is endorsed by Debra Koff-Chapin, founder of the Center for Touch Drawing, as a facilitator of Touch Drawing.

Helen is dedicated to foundationing the "Essential Space of Creation" through her life, teaching and the powerfulimagery of her paintings. She presently teaches at the Maine College of Art and at her studio and is available to bring her workshops to your area.
